God Sends

The Christmas story is filled with moments where God sends messengers to deliver His Word and fulfill His plans. He sent the angel Gabriel to Mary, announcing she would give birth to the Savior (Luke 1:26–38). He sent angels to shepherds in the fields, proclaiming the good news of Jesus’ birth (Luke 2:8–14). Most importantly, God sent His only Son, Jesus, into the world to save us (John 3:16).

These moments in the Christmas story serve as a reminder that God sends His messengers to bring hope, guidance, and the good news of salvation to the world. As followers of Jesus, we are also sent. Before His ascension, Jesus told His disciples, “As the Father has sent me, I am sending you” (John 20:21). We are called to be His ambassadors, sharing the good news of His love and grace with the world.

Day 18 quote graphic: God Sends

Each day, you have an opportunity to be God’s messenger. He may send you to talk with a family member, friend, or co-worker who is discouraged. He may send you across the street or across the world to share the gospel. Whether through a word of encouragement, an act of kindness, or sharing our faith, we are sent into the world to reflect God’s love and share the good news of great joy for all people (Luke 2:10).

“Then I heard the voice of the Lord saying, ‘Whom shall I send? And who will go for us?’ And I said, ‘Here am I. Send me!’”

Isaiah 6:8
Prayer

Father, thank you for sending Jesus to save me. Help me embrace my role as your ambassador, sent to share your love with others. Give me courage, boldness, and wisdom. In Jesus’ name, amen.
